Growing up, our family traditions revolved around capturing moments together - going to church, family vacations, going to Olan Mills for portraits, or flipping through cherished photo albums. Each picture tells a story, reminding us of the laughter, love, and connections we share. As I reflect those memories, I realize my passion for photography ignited from those warm family moments, and I strive to create the same feelings of nostalgia and belonging for others. It’s amazing how a single photograph can hold so much history and emotion. One of my most cherished possessions is a portrait captured by my mom’s first husband, a talented photographer. This stunning image showcases my mom, grandma, and great grandma - each face telling a unique story of our family legacy. As Jerry Seinfeld said, when belongings are gone, it’s the artwork and photos that our kids will treasure, and I want to ensure my children have all these precious memories to hold onto.

My youngest is already six years old, and before long, the days of tutus and tiaras at the grocery store will be just a memory. These fleeting moments are precious, and I want to hold onto them—not just for myself, but for her, for her children, and for the generations that follow. One day, they’ll gather around, turning the pages of their own albums, laughing and reminiscing about the love and life captured in each image.
